IAB COLLABORATES WITH UNESCO, RED CROSS, RED CRESCENT AND THE WORLD HEALTH ORGANIZATION IN REGIONAL INFORMATION CAMPAIGN ON VIRUS ZIKA

Faced with the evolution of the epidemic Zika virus that affects Latin America and the Caribbean, UNESCO, along with the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies and the World Health Organization - WHO, with the support of IAB, is promoting a Radio campaign of information at hemispheric level, to contribute to its prevention.

What does this campaign consist of?

Promoter organizations have made a first radio campaign consisting of three informative messages about prevention (each lasting approximately 60 seconds.), which have been prepared in 4 languages: Spanish, English, French and Portuguese.

Spot 1:
The first spot "Protection against vectors" represents two neighbours who are informed about the risks of Zika and the best ways to protect against the mosquitoes that carry the virus. The dialogue provides with all necessary information.

Spot 2:
The second spot on "protect pregnant women" are intended to educate pregnant women about the risks specific Zika virus. The virus is transmitted from mother to child, so it is important to protect pregnant women in particular.

Spot 3:
The third spot, "avoid rumors", it aims to propagate the valid and actual information about the virus and risks. This is to stop the rumors and not let settle an atmosphere of panic in communities.
